Soner ÖZER He started music works with his father (music teacher) Erdem ÖZER. He graduated from Ankara State Conservatory Department of Percussion Instruments by working with Muzaffer ERBERİK and Haşim YEDİCAN. He worked with Prof. Sylvio GUALDAwho had assumed the title of the best percussionist of Europe- by passing the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra exam and attended the tours of the orchestra. ÖZER, who received the appreciation of GUALDA with the words 'extraordinary talent', was accepted to his class in Paris Versaille Conservatory. He worked with Yves Bruestaux, William Blanc, Lois Conte and John Mayer on classic, jazz and modern percussion in Switzerland and USA. ÖZER, who emphasizes the Turkish rhythms and tunes, composed and performed rhythm compositions for groups such as AFTUD, H.U. FOLK DANCES GROUP, SULTANS OF THE DANCE by especially focusing on dance music. He composed for the MODERN DANCE GROUP 'SEL', 'EDİM', 'ANAFOR' and ONLAR KİMDİ BİLİYOR MUSUN ?' which were presented in the STATE OPERA AND BALLET. Soner Özer, who attended with ÖZER PERCUSSION PROJECT, MTD and DURUL GENCE SIX groups the Houston Festival in 1995 where Turkey was guest of honor, gave big concerts. He attended the World premier and CD records of the pieces of Fazıl SAY and Hüseyin SERMET. He performed in many countries in the world. He gave many concerts, namely in the Presidential Symphony Orchestra (CSO). As ÖZER PERCUSSİON DUO, he achieved the first vocalization in Turkey of BELA BARTOK 'SONATA FOR TWO PIANOS - TWO PERCUSSIONS', which is one of the most important classical music pieces, with Ufuk-Bahar Fourth Piano Duet and CSO. His Turkish Pieces that he arranged for percussion and strings, were performed for the first time in Pakistan and then in 2005 MAYFEST in New York by 'TURQUARTET and OZER PERCUSSİON DUO'. Also the artist was invited to the New York University (NYU) by Jonathan Hass, who is the Head of the Percussion Instruments Department in NYU and gave a promotional concert as PERCUSSİON DUO consisting of a Turkish rhythms composition. He worked with artists such as ZUHAL OLCAY, NÜKHET DURU, OZAN DOĞULU, SERKAN ÇAĞRI, GÖKSEL BAKTAGİR, MERCAN DEDE. He works in Ankara State Opera and Ballet Orchestra. The Artist, who carries out workshops on body percussion and concentration has a method, which consists of his own education system.
