COURSE INFORMATION COURSE DESCRIPTION: This curse based on ear-training and solfege includes the basic music knowledge such as the names of notes, their place and time, key signatures, line and intervals and tones. COURSE TYPE and COURSE LEVEL: Must:yes Core: yes Elementary(Basic):yes Elective: Minor Intermediate: Advanced: Related: Specialized: COURSE OBJECTIVES: This course primarily aims to improve hearing and production of the intervals in an octave, singing scales, singing and writing of melody, singing solfege in treble clef, and ear-training. Besides, identification of intervals, meters, establish and singing the intervals on any note are included. COURSE METHODOLOGY: Course process is based on reading, hearing and writing music. Applied courses are subvened with theoric information. During the semester homework appropriate to the course are given and are taken into consideration in evaluation. REQUIRED&PROPOSED MATERIALS: in practice piano is used, in theoretical instruction blackboard is used too. GRADING INFORMATION AND CRITERIA: it is compulsory to attend %80 percent of the classes. Unexcused absentees for four weeks decrease the mark.
