Question/Negative Question form Have Haven’t Has Hasn’t I, we you, they he, she it liked cowboy films. been to Italy. Note: Present Perfect ile fiilin 3. hali (past participle) kullanılır. Cümlenin üç halinde de V3 aynı kalır. The Present Perfect tense is used: 1) The present perfect expresses the idea that something happened or never happened before now, at an indefinite time in the past. The time it happened isn’t mentioned. If there is a specific mentioned time, The Simple Past is used. a) Present perfect geçmişte herhangi bir zamanda olmuş bitmiş olayların ifadesinde kullanılır. Olayın geçtiği zaman önemli değildir. Eğer geçmişte zaman ifade ediyorsak bu durumda Simple Past kullanırız. Eg: b) Simple Past ve Present Perfect arasındaki en önemli fark budur. They have moved to a new house. (Burada eve taşınmış olmaları önemli) They moved to a new house last week. Present Perfect Simple Past NOTE Present Perfect geçmişte zaman ifade etmediği için “When” sorusu sorulmaz. When have you played football? When did you play football? 2) To talk about an action which happened in the past but its results are obvious in the present. It has present relevance. (Geçmişte olmuş bitmiş bir olayın konuşma esnasında izleri devam ediyorsa Present Perfect kullanılır.) Konuşma esnasında gözlemlediğimiz izlerden geçmişte o olayın olduğunusize birisi ifade etmeksizin tahmin edebilirsiniz. Bu yüzden Present Perfect Tense’e haberci zaman, ya da dedikoducu zaman diyebiliriz. Çünkü olayları ilk bu zamanla duyarsınız. Eg: Jack has been put in jail. (He is still in jail.) (When you see someone’s leg in plaster) Oh dear! Have you broken your leg. Geçmişle ilgili bir olayı ilk kez duyduğumuzda, ya da o olaydan ilk kez bahsettiğimiz zaman da Present Perfect kullanırız. Eğer daha sonra o olayın detaylarından bahsedersek bu detayları Simple Past ile ifade ederiz. Eg: A: Have you ever eaten lobster? B: Yes, I have. I ate it in İstanbul. A: Have you seen “Avatar”? B: Yes, I have. I watched it in Optimum in Ankara. 3) To talk about an action which started in the past and continues up to the present. It expresses this idea when it is used with for or since. (Perfect Tense for ve since ile kullanıldığında geçmişte başlayıp halen devam eden olayların ifadesinde kullanılır.) Eg: I have lived in Ankara for 30 years. I have liked potato ever since I was a child. NOTE Since + a particular time For + a duration of time 4) To talk about an action which happened in the recent past if the period of time mentioned is still in progress. (Geçmişte olan olayla, o olaydan bahsettiğiniz an aynı zaman dilimi içerisinde geçiyorsa Perfect Tense kullanılır.) Eg: I’ve washed my hair this morning. (It is still morning.) I washed my hair this morning. (It is afternoon now.) The expressions used with the Present Perfect Tense JUST: kullanılır) We use it to tallk about an action which was completed a short time ago. (Konuşma esnasından kısa bir süre önce olmuş bitmiş olayların ifadesinde Eg: I have just finished my homework. ALREADY: It is used to talk about an action which happened in an unexpected time. The speaker does the action before it is wanted from him/her. (Çoktan yaptı(m) bile anlamında kullanılan bir ifadedir.) YET: Eg: I have already done my homework. The speaker wants something to be done and wants to find it out if it has happened or not. (Henüz, hala anlamında kullanılan bir ifadedir.) Eg: Have you done you homework, yet? (Soru cümlelerine “henüz yapmadın mı?” gibi olumsuz bir anlam katar.) + Just Already Yet EVER: NEVER: X X X ? NOTE = It expresses that the expresion can be used in that sentence form. X = That expression can’t be used in that sentence form. To ask to learn if a person has ever or hasn’t done an action in his life time. It is used in questions and it is placed between have+subject and the past participle. (“Hayatımda hiç” anlamında bir kullanımdır. Soru cümlelerinde kullanılır.) Eg: Have you ever met a famous person (in your life)? It is used in affirmative (positive) sentences and gives a negative meaning. It is placed between have and past participle. (Olumlu cümlelerde kullanılır. Fakat olumsuz bir anlam verir. “Hayatımda hiç yapmadım” anlamında bir kullanımdır.) Eg: I have never eaten octopus. SINCE: FOR: (I don’t know how it tastes.) It refers to the time when the action started. (Olayın başlagıcından bahsedilir. “O zamandan beri anlamında kullanılan bir ifadedir.) Eg: She has studied Maths since 9 o’clock. RECENTLY: It is used either between have and Past Participle or at the end of the affirmative (positive) sentence or question. (Yardımcı fiilden sonra kullanıldığı gibi, cümle sonunda da kullanılabilir. “Son zamanlarda” anlamında bir kullanımdır.) Eg: She has recently bought a house. Has she bought a house recently? LATELY/ They are placed at the end or beginning of the sentence. SO FAR/ NOTE Recently can also be used with the Simple Past Tense NOTE gone to Mary has gone to Paris (She is still in Paris) (gone to kullanıldığında kişi gittiği yerden henüz dönmediği için I ve We ile kullanılmaz.) been to Mary has been to Paris.
