Underpass is open to walk Kate Crummy and Alper Aydin will be the first couple to get married at The Llama Park in Wych Cross Llamarvellous wedding A COUPLE will have their bags alpaca-d for their honeymoon after history is made at a llama park. The first wedding will be hosted this month at the Llama Park at Wych Cross, Forest Row, when Alper Aydin and Kate Crummy tie the knot. The venue received a wedding licence in May and the park has been inundated with calls from couples ever since. Mr Aydin, a 33-year-old service advisor, said they were looking for a venue with something a bit different. He said: “To cut a long story short, Kate is an animal lover and we looked everywhere to find a barn or farm that we could get married in.” by JAMIE MICKLETHWAITE jamie.micklethwaite@ theargus.co.uk Mr Aydin also said they both wanted their wedding to be more of a summer BBQ for them and their friends because neither of them were keen on the idea of a stereotypical white wedding. The couple have made a few requests for their special day. Mr Aydin said: “We’ve asked for a fire pit to be put in place and we’ve asked for bow ties to be put on the llamas.” He added that despite their more casual wedding day, “all wedding guests need to look smart”. The bow ties have had to be specially-designed to fit on the llamas long necks and to make sure that the ani- mals are comfortable with wearing them. Bobby Shuck, co-owner of The Llama Park, said that they wanted to expand the services the llama park offered to people wanting something different. He said: “The Llama Park is a beautiful location with stunning views as well as the attraction of all the different animals we have here. “The great thing about the Llama Park is all the people who work there are all mad and we’re prepared to do anything for anybody.” For more information on The Llama Park, people are asked to contact 01825 713698. Let us know at www.theargus.co.uk/opinion A BRAND new underpass is now open to pedestrians. The Chapel Path underpass in Hastings links the old Bancroft Path and Chapel Path, providing a safe crossing point for pedestrians. The Woodsgate Park Bridge in Hastings has also been opened, replacing the old structure. The county council says people are happy with the new facilities. An underpass was chosen instead of a surface crossing to be safer for children with less impact on traffic.
