Brussels Region, Ministry of Scientific Research funded project. 4 Özgür Ug̃raş BARAN - Curriculum Vitae – 2014 2003–05 Involved in Aeroacoustics research in Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Fluid Mechanics Group, responsible for integration of Linearized Euler solver to the unstructured N/S solver. 2002–04 TROPHY–Towards Prediction of Hydroplaning: Numerical simulation and experimental validation. EC funded R&D project. Involved as a member of the NUMECA International research team. Responsible for development of VOF and Level-Set based multiphase flow schemes and development of coupling of fluid-structure interaction problem. Project partners: Michelin Tires, Pirelli Tires, MSC/MARC Netherlands. 2002–03 SMILE–Simulation Methods of Interior Noise Levels aerodynamically Excited. EC funded R&D project. Involved as a member of the NUMECA International research team. Contributed to the development of a FEM model and a SEA model of the vehicle-like model and coupling with the wall pressure excitation in order to predict interior noise in passenger cars. Project partners: Renault and DaimlerChrysler. 2005 Involved in the development of combustion solver for NUMECA International. Developed interface for chemical reactions models. 2006 Managed project with optimizing daily logistics of ÜLKER, which requires loading of almost 300000 boxes of foods distributed from 80 plants and 70 warehouses to tens of different types of trucks each day. Project is also extended for warehouse and stock optimizations. Project Partners: ÜLKER, Netlog logistics. 2006 Led development of project for TOYOTA that builds weekly Just In Time (JIT) logistics for its Adapazarı plant. Project includes truck loading with actual box dimensions and scheduling of the trucks. The project is extended for all European TOYOTA plants and demonstrated successfully. Project partners: TOYOTA Turkey. 2007-2010 HELSIM project member. HELSIM is the biggest aircraft simulator project of Turkey to date which includes three Blackhawk of two different sub-models, two Seahawk helicopters and one sensor operator simulator that all can conduct cooperative operations. Responsible of all physical systems in both hardware and software side, including flight model performance, hydraulic, electric and all other sub-systems also control loading performance, motion and vibration system integration and tuning. 5 Özgür Ug̃raş BARAN - Curriculum Vitae – 2014 2008 Development of an aerodynamics and related models for Agusta A109 and Blackhawk helicopters including all general libraries. This project became a proof of concept for future helicopter simulators projects. Project is also extended to include a full visual system, two glass-cockpit simulated panel libraries and a Simulink alike visual development system for systems model development. 2010-present Involved in fluid-structure interaction analysis, aerodynamic design, seperation analysis and wind tunnel amalysis for various missile projects including SOM, KGK, HGK and SOM-J. 2011 Perform development of fluid structure interaction and mesh deformation tool. 2011 Involved in development of wind tunnel separation analysis verification and modeling tool. 2011-present Involved in development of in-house CFD solver, SENSE3D 2011–2012 Development of an aerodynamic analysis tool, which unifies aerodynamic solutions produced from different aerodynamic analysis tools, including analytical tools, CFD solutions and wind tunnel tests eliminating common errors and introduces a new workflow for aerodynamic data production. This project is now basis of the all aerodynamic design process of TUBITAK SAGE, where aerodynamic design cycle of an aircraft shortened by an order after employment of this tool. 2013–present Involved into design and platform integration of a cruise missile for F-35 aircraft. Integration studies of the missile is conducted with Lockheed Martin. 6
